Valene Skerpac, CISSP, is a Senior Information Technology Executive with management experience in corporate and start-up organizations. Valene is a business strategist, solutions driver, and hands-on product development team leader with success leading companies to profitable growth and market differentiation. Valene’s executive career began with the positions of Marketing and Engineering Managers for IBM Corporation in the insurance and finance industries. From there, she moved to Vorec Corporation, a security product and services company, where she led all operations and had a big impact on the public’s safety through her management of 24-hour security monitoring systems and state-of-the-art software and hardware. New challenges awaited Valene and she joined Triad Group, a third party self-insurance management firm as IT Director to support rapid growth following a company merger. In her current roll at iBiometrics, Inc, Valene has used her business acuity and strong leadership abilities to raise significant funds, build a team, and lead the research and development of innovative products valuable to US security and beneficial to society. She applies her sharp analytical skills and architectural knowledge to lead a full-spectrum of consulting projects in areas such as mobile payments and identity management. increase remote monitoring software availability by 100%, and enhance performance of remote monitoring units via firmware updates.
Valene has a passion for technology and management, and she has enjoyed significant industry training in addition to her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and an active member in a number of security chapters in the New York metro area, including InfraGard, OWASP and ISSA. Valene is a member of the speech and multi-modal mobile group “AVIOS,” and she has been tapped numerous times to speak at various conferences, meetings, and workshops. She returned this year to the Mobile Speech Conference to deliver an informative speech on “Positioning Speaker Verification for Mobile Communications in the Broader Authentication Security Sector,” as well as to SpeechTek, where she delivered two presentations on information security and voice authentication. An enthusiast in athletics and the arts, Valene enjoys visits to the gym and cooking.
